944 Racer 2007

2007 Season Review

This season has proved to be somewhat of an endeavour!  While it's taken as read that you can expect a fair degree of bad luck in motor racing, we seem to have had several seasons worth all rolled up into one this past year!

A fraught start to the season saw us languishing down near the bottom of the points table with a car clearly off the pace and not much to show from the opening meetings.

But a switch of technical backup to Midlands based Porsche Race Car Specialists EMC Motorsport proved to be the catalyst to a dramatic improvement!

With much hard work by all concerned the season was transformed and we found ourselves in the position of having one of the most competitive cars in the Class.

Some close racing between us and the 911s of both Neil Harvey and Mark Taylor followed, making for great entertainment and viewing alike.

Come the end of the season, we were rewarded with a third in Class 3 and seventh overall in the championship, brought about by 2 Class Wins, 6 Second Places and 3 Thirds.  Indeed we would prove to be the only 944 to win races in Class 3 this year.

Had the early part of the season been different who knows what this season may have brought … a bigger trophy for a start!!

So where now?  Obviously we'll be back next season and the plan is to campaign a faster 944 S2 in Class 2 of the Championship were we aim not only to win the Class but have a crack at the Porsche Club Championship title itself.  Watch this space!!
