2008 Season Review
This season saw us campaiging a 944 S2 in Class 2 of the Porsche Club Championship. The year turned out to be a real mixed bag with some real highs mixed in with some equally as extreme lows.
The renowned Porsche motorsport specialists, EMC Motorsport, had prepared a fresh car for this season capable of taking the title and we set out with the intention of taking the crown! We found ourselves in the thick of the action from the outset, indeed at the opening round at Donington Park we were right on the pace picking up a podium in the very first race.
However, the season was to be typified by some displays of poor driving and overly robusting defending of places by a minority of the protaganists that saw many of the main competitors, including ourselves, spending unnecessary time in the body shop. Our season saw us win races and earn many podiums but was marred by two big accidents that damaged our points tally.
Our spirits were never damped and we raced right at the front all the way to the final round in the pouring rain at Spa. We proved that as a team we were still very much the people to beat!
So what next? The team have a bit of a hankering to go into endurance racing and have got something rather special sat in their workshops that will turn a few heads when we put it out on the track! Watch this space!!
